Quilting Services

Here at Shining Star we are an Edge to Edge studio. We have over 60 different colors of threads to choose from and we have thousands of patterns to choose from for your quilt. We try to match your background color of your quilt or the most common color in your quilt and try to choose a pattern to compliment your top. We will also give you a quote for your project before you leave. We charge .0225 per square inch for quilting your top. How do you figure out the price? Take the Length x Width x .0225. There is always a $7.00 thread charge added to the quilting fee.

How do you prepare your quilt for quilting? Your back needs to be 4 inches wider on all 4 sides of the top of your quilt. It must be Squared up and have straight sides and top and bottom. To find this you can fold your fabric in half and check for accuracy and then fold it the other way in half. If you need to straighten up your edges, use a ruler and a rotary cutter. Having straight edges makes your quilt roll smoothly when quilting. Your batting needs to be at least 2 inches larger on all 4 sides of the top. This extra fabric is needed to attach the back to the rollers and clamps on the sides. PRESS YOUR BACK AND TOP AND REMOVE ALL CREASES THAT YOU CAN.
