Meeting Lisa

As a young child I learned to sew from my mother, who was taught by her mother.  A third generation in the quilting world, a lot has changed over the years.  We now have rotary cutters and cutting mats, we also have sewing machines and now we have Longarm Quilting machines.  As a child I can remember my grandmother and mother quilting in the middle of the living room floor and the grandkids would sit under the quilt and push the needles back up as the aunts and grandmothers would quilt.

Married and working full time for over 30+ years and raising two boys who are grown now, I found myself having to care for my mother who had cancer.  Spending all my time at her house, I decided I needed to make some income, so I decided to buy a Gammill Longarm Statler and start quilting.  I love to make quilts and I love the creative choices of picking out fabric to make a masterpiece.  Now I have the ability to quilt my work.  Choosing the right pattern to quilt and thread completes the quilt top.

Located in the basement, my studio is complete with my longarm, several sewing machines, cutting tables, ironing stations, fabric, batting and thread.  I have what you need to make, quilt and bind your top and if you don’t know how, I would love the opportunity to teach you.
